Rather than imposing upon the terrain, the architecture is deeply embedded into the hillside. This deliberate excavation creates a profound sense of grounding, ensuring the dwelling feels intrinsically wedded to its environment and respects the natural contours of the site.

The physical identity of the residence is defined by a bold, unyielding material palette. An imposing exoskeleton of off-form concrete provides the primary structural expression, celebrated for its raw, monolithic character. To counterbalance this austere framework, the design introduces meticulous infills of slim Krause brickwork. This artisanal masonry offers a highly textured, rhythmic contrast, scaling down the concrete’s proportions and injecting the facade with exquisite, tactile warmth.

Despite its sheltered, earth-bound positioning, the interior experience is dictated by absolute luminosity. The spatial climax is a dramatic double-height void situated at the rear of the floorplate. This soaring architectural aperture acts as a monumental sun-catcher, flooding the primary living zones with an abundance of natural illumination and pulling the sky downward.
